Lady Heather's Domain: My life in a Nutshell

I checked on the shipping status of the bed chamber - it should be here Monday!!!  I took the chair in to be repaired and the guy said he should have it fixed by early next week.  He would later call me at 5pm and say I could pick it up on Saturday.  A bit of amusement for me was when the guy took the chair out of the car for me a set of keys fell out - they were my son's that he lost nearly a year ago - amazing that they were hidden somewhere in the chair all of this time. I picked up a few things around the house read a bit and then headed to my daughter's group home for therapy.  Traffic was horrible and I just a few minutes before I got there my daughter called to say the therapist wasn't going to be there because she had to leave early - so I got there and talked to my daughter for a bit - she was a bit rude, saying how she is messed up because of me and all of the teachers and people at school agree that I am a bad mom.  Then she proceeded to keep saying...

So first thing I did on Thursday is call select comfort about the fact the bed was still losing air.  While it is still under warranty, it is pro-rated at 62% - I guess we really should have not put it off - oh well better late than never.  So they agree to send out a new chamber - it is only about $70 so at least it helped offset a portion of it.  We will hopefully get it by the end of next week and then one other big thing is taken care of.  My LaZboy chair stopped working when we moved houses so I decided to call them - I left a message and they called me back later in the afternoon - I will drop it off tomorrow since the guys were able to load it into the car tonight. When I went to get dinner stuff from the Savemart - I found out a very nice checker who always took my stuff out even if I went through self-checkout passed away suddenly in his sleep.  I am torn - it seems like such a nice way to go for the person but I have nightmares about waking up next t...

So I got up and made sure my ipod touch was charged.  I relaxed awhile and knew I could not eat or I would probably have to constantly go to the bathroom.  My dentist appointment was at 10am - I got done about 1:30pm and picked up pudding and some other soft food I figured I would be able to eat. I think people that know me should talk to my dentist - he complains my mouth is too small and they constantly had to place wedges in my mouth to get my mouth to open wider (wish I could be a snake and unhinge my jaw)  - most of the people who know me think I have a big mouth. Maybe big things do come in little packages.  Anyway after over 3 hours of work my right half of my mouth is finished - on Monday at 11am I will have the left half of my mouth plus a cleaning done.  Other than a couple of sharp places I will ask him to sand down my bite is good and I think he did a great job.  The good news is no root canals or crowns!  One tooth he thought he was goin...

First thing I did was strip the bed and start the laundry - then I raced over to the laundry mat to start washing the comforter that was really beginning to smell funky. With all of the bedding off the bed I decided to do the troubleshooting that Sleep Number had said to do on the bed to determine why one side keeps getting low.  I unzipped the bed and managed to finally pull the tube out and cap my side of the bed.  Now it will be a waiting game - if the bed continues to lose air on that side, it is the chamber that needs replacing, if it doesn't then there is something wrong with the pump or the tube to that side of the bed.  We don't think that is the case because I believe when we moved houses the pump switched sides but I want to make sure so I can just get this done.  So then I continued doing laundry and cleaning the room.  Sadly by noon and after making the bed back up my body decided it was done.  I started shaking a lot and my back was starting ...

It was so hard the past 9 months.  My hubby kept up some things, I couldn't get anything housewise done.  And before that I had so very little time, most things never got taken care of after the move a year ago last November.  So today I decided to start catching up.  Now as usual my plans were way more than what I could physically do.  I had planned on doing the master bathroom, the master bedroom and start to work on the garage.  Mind you my hubby walks out the door just a bit before 9am so I cannot start until then and I had a 4pm dentist appointment for both my son and I.  So I started the day going to Bed, Bath and Beyond - I was looking to see if I saw anything I like to replace my comforter set - no luck.  I did find a can crusher, bathroom waste basket, Folex carpet cleaner, a new toilet seat and some scrubbers to help scrub nasty stuff with.  Oh I should say before I left I used X-14 mildew and mold remover with bleach on the bathr...

Easter morning... we are not religious so we do not do church.  I do however do Easter Baskets.  I was excited to see what my hubby thought of his - he calls me his Acorn and he is my Scratt - I had gotten stuffed Scratt and Scratte (female Scratt) stuffed animals - Scratt has an Acorn.  He thought it was cute and like it a lot.  My son was pleased that the Easter Bunny gave him a gift certificate to Amazon to buy some stuff he wanted.  Plus candy galore.  We had a nice ham lunch with mashed potatoes, biscuits and veggies.  It was nice and yet sad as we could tell his grandfather was not doing well.  We watched some more television and I read more of my book and then we drove home (or I should say my hubby drove us home).  I had moments that it just felt good during the drive.  The weather wasn't bad, neither was the traffic and I felt relaxed.  There are perfect moments like that - I wish I could just keep them forever.  We go...

So Saturday, April 23, 2011 was the beginning of my new life.  It was my official last day of school even though all of my school work had been previously turned in.  It started out with a quick trip to Borders to buy my son some books since we were leaving in a couple of hours to spend Easter weekend with my hubby's grandfather.  He found what he wanted really quickly and even met a few friends in line.  I ended up saving nearly 50% on the books.  We loaded into the car and headed out for our 3 hour drive.  There was laughter and me relaxing and sleeping on the car ride up. We had a really nice day just watching tv with his grandpa and then pizza for dinner.  I could tell it was hard on my hubby because his grandfather has gotten a lot worse since Christmas when we were last there.  He is barely able to get up and around anymore.  I went to bed, my hubby had a sleepless night - first getting Easter Dinner at a 24 hour supermarket for the n...
